UREGENT APPEAL FOR LEBANON
Dearest Family and friends,
I am reaching out with a sincere and urgent appeal on behalf of Gestures From The Heart.
For more than a decade, we have stood alongside elderly people and vulnerable families in Lebanon, providing food, medical assistance, essential supplies, hot meals, and support in times of crisis. We have always tried to do this quietly and with dignity, relying largely on the generosity of individuals and partners.
Today, however, we have reached the most difficult point in our financial situation.
Lebanon continues to face extraordinary economic hardship. Poverty has more than tripled over the past decade, with the latest comprehensive data showing 44% of the population living below the poverty line. Inflation remains extremely high, with consumer prices 15.69% higher year-on-year in July 2026, while the World Bank projects 17.5% inflation for the year. The renewed crisis has placed even greater pressure on families who were already struggling to afford food, medication and basic necessities.
At Gestures, we are now facing the same reality from the other side: the needs are growing, while our financial resources are reaching their limit.
We are therefore asking for your support—not for one specific project, but to help us keep our doors open and continue responding to the most urgent needs of the people who depend on us.
